What is Neon Tetra Disease?

Neon Tetra Disease, caused by the Pleistophora hyphessobryconis parasite, is a highly contagious disease that affects many species of tropical fish, but it is most commonly seen in Neon Tetras. The parasite enters the fish's body through ingestion and replicates in the fish's muscle tissue, causing destruction and ultimately leading to the development of cysts and white spots on the fish's body.
